Introduction:

Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people aged 16 - 24* looking for on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage. Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace, backed up by attendance at college just one day a week.

An Advanced Apprenticeship in Electrotechnical Industry will give you valuable experience of a variety of electrical activities. You will be working in various environments covering Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Installations. Your exact duties will depend upon your employer.

Where possible staff from College Apprenticeships Training will find you an employer and a place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer). Your offer of Apprenticeship training will be dependent upon work placements being available.

Apprenticeships are a great option for school leavers who want to get straight onto the career ladder. An Apprenticeship is equivalent to 5 GCSE's.

* Please note priority is given to applicants under 19 years of age. Due to funding arrangements, places maybe limited for 19-24 year olds.

Entry Requirements:

GCSEs at grade C or above in English; maths; Science Subjects or GCSE/GNVQ Engineering.
