Staff at Bournemouth Airport are looking forward to welcoming passengers through their new departures terminal, due to open in early summer 2010. The Airport predict around 3 million passengers will be using their terminal every year, proudly served by over 120 staff.
Duty Manager, Douglas Grewcock has been actively preparing for the increased level of activity by honing and learning new management skills with The Bournemouth and Poole College. Douglas achieved his NVQ Level 4 in Management and found the training invaluable. He commented “Bournemouth Airport has undergone a significant investment for the future; I’ve also been able to invest time in developing my own skills so I can help my staff rise to the challenges and opportunities ahead. I’ve learned many valuable skills throughout the qualification and my assessor, James Sewell, has focused both on my needs and that of the business. I feel confident and prepared that we’re on the up.”
Bournemouth Airport’s management team fully support staff development in their commitment to provide ease of use, convenience and excellent customer service to air travellers to and from the South Coast.
Jacky Grant, Business Enterprise Skills Advisor commented, “We have managed to work the qualification and assessment around Douglas to enable him to put the core business of the airport first and complete his qualification in time for the busy period ahead!”
