There’s no doubt about it; the creative industries are booming. Experiencing massive growth in the last decade they are considered one of the dynamic components of the emergent economy.
The creative industries make a vital and growing contribution to the economy of the South West, providing direct employment for nearly 94,000 people as well as adding 1.9 million to the Southwest’s economic output. The region is a hotbed of creative business activity and digital media and the sector is growing more rapidly than anywhere else in the UK, employing more creatives than any other region outside London.
At The Bournemouth and Poole College we are ideally positioned to tap into that sector to help you hone your creative skills. The environment we provide will help you channel your creative talents, boost your confidence, build links, make contacts and adopt a professional approach that could launch your career.

The faculty has attained a range of awards over the years including the Beacon Award for Art and Design. In addition, our learners often win individual awards at skills challenges, and we have achieved medals of distinction from examining bodies.

The Bournemouth and Poole College has recently launched a series of subject-specific specialist ‘academies’ where students are promoted to excel within their chosen vocation.
Within the Faculty of Creative Industries we have the following two academies:
• The Music and Sound Academy
• The School of Performing Arts
The academies are well resourced with highly qualified teaching specialists with sector expertise. They are also well-equipped with facilities and resources that provide a first rate learning and training experience.
