Further Study
This section directs you to key sources of help if you are thinking of continuing from your current higher education course onto further study.
Go to Course Progression for targeted course information.
Are you a student on a Foundation Degree or HND?
If you successfully finish your course, you might be able to complete an Honours degree in your subject through a one-year full-time Top-up degree course, either specifically designed for students from your course or from similar courses. You could also consider applying for entry into the final year of a degree course in a similar subject.
For most courses you will need to apply through UCAS (the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).
Are you a student on an Honours Degree?
If you are predicted to achieve a good class of degree, you could consider continuing onto postgraduate higher degree courses and research. Alternatively, you could look at courses offering more specialised vocational training and/or professional qualifications.
Are you a part-time student or unable or unwilling to continue studying full-time?
You could consider the possibility of a part-time course, or the more flexible option of a distance learning degree with the Open University. Check how many credits and study exemption you could be entitled to.
Alternatively, you could consider taking vocational qualifications part-time, perhaps in conjunction with employment.
