The Floristry team from The Bournemouth and Poole College are hosting a floral demonstration and competition at City Gate Church (St Swithun’s Centre) in Bournemouth on Thursday 22nd April.

The evening starts at 7pm with the opportunity to view the competition pieces that the current and past students plus local florists have entered into the different categories. There will then be a demonstration by Dennis Van Wonderen, BFA Event co-ordinator, Shop Proprietor and National Demonstrator well known for parading around Chelsea Flower Show wearing large hats! The evening will be rounded off with a prize giving for the winners of the competition.

Jo Richards, a Floristry lecturer from The Bournemouth and Poole College who are organising the event said “This is a great opportunity to see a professional floristry demonstrator with a unique and interesting style in action, gain tips for your own floral arranging and support the entrants who put a great deal of time and effort into their competition pieces.”.

This event is open to everyone, tickets are £7 to include refreshments and can be obtained from the floristry department at The College on 01202 205894.

The event will be held at City Gate Church (St Swithun’s Centre), Gervis Road, Bournemouth. Doors open 7pm, Demonstration from 7.30pm.
