More than 60 students were nominated and received awards and prizes at this year’s Faculty of Technology’s Award Ceremony, held at the RNLI Training College . Students from all areas of the Faculty including Applied Computing & Electronics, Building Services, Construction Skills and Engineering at all levels including Higher Education Students and Apprentices were represented.
Anton Robinson and Liam Feeney both Midfield players with the Cherries, presented prizes to the students and some of the company sponsored awards were presented by representatives from their organisation. The College works closely with a large number of local employers and is very grateful for their support with this event.
Karen Kebbey, partner at Churchview Joinery in Wimborne commented: “I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the prize giving – every single one of the students deserved their prize and what a huge amount of achievement, with some students overcoming many hardships to succeed. We were very proud of our own student Daniel who has really blossomed in the 3 years he has been going to The College.”
Terry Dungate Director of the Faculty of Technology said, “It gives us all a great sense of achievement to hear about how successful our students are and we are extremely proud of them. I would also like to thank all the companies we work in partnerships with to deliver training, which has enabled us to gain the TQS standard for our close links with employers. Appreciation must also go to all of the teaching teams who work so hard to share their knowledge and experience to enable the students to succeed in their chosen fields.”
