What is a hate crime / prejudice incident?
If you have experienced or witnessed any incident that you perceive to be discriminatory on the basis of your own or someone else's race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, faith, transgender, religious belief or age, you can report it. It does not have to be a criminal offence to be reported.
This could be an incident you have experienced in the classroom, college grounds, your community, a complaint against a service or outcome, or a complaint against a member of staff or student.
Incidents could involve verbal abuse, harassment, physical attacks, damage to property, the internet, text messaging, bullying or graffiti.
There are a number of ways to report such incidents.
If you’re not sure about whether you have experienced hate crime, don’t understand the reporting process or simply want some help to make a report, don’t suffer in silence, contact Gemma Genco for a confidential chat.

The College are keen to encourage victims of prejudice incidents to report them. By reporting the incident, victims can access a wide range of support services and action can be taken to rectify the situation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Increased reporting of incidents will also help The College to develop a full picture of what is happening in our College community. This is essential for us to tackle the problem and eliminate any prejudice incidents in our College.
If you experience any prejudice incidents outside of College, you can also report it by visiting: http://www.dorset.police.uk/default.aspx?page=377
